If you have trouble using RunStory, start with the checks below.
Browse the Sample Run
You can explore RunStory’s core features without Apple Health data or permissions.
- Select
Browse Sample Runon an empty Home screen. - Or open Settings from the top-right of Home and select
Browse Sample Run. - Viewing the sample does not request Apple Health, photo, or location permissions.
Runs Do Not Appear
- Confirm that the workout exists in the Health app on your iPhone.
- In Settings > Apps > Health > Data Access & Devices > RunStory, review read access for workouts, workout routes, and related metrics.
- Pull down on RunStory Home to refresh.
- Fully close and reopen the app.
Because of Apple Health privacy protections, RunStory cannot directly determine whether read access was denied. After changing access, refresh Home again.
Photos Do Not Appear
- In Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > RunStory, allow full access or access to the required photos.
- Confirm that the photos were taken near the time of the run.
- Refresh Home and reopen the run detail.
Original photos are not uploaded to a RunStory server.
Current Location Does Not Appear
In Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > RunStory, select While Using the App. Current location access is used only to show your position on the map.
iCloud Sync
- Confirm that iCloud Drive is enabled in Settings > Apple Account > iCloud.
- Both devices must use the same Apple Account.
- Check network availability and iCloud storage.
- Allow a little time for sync to complete.
To remove RunStory app data and related iCloud data, review RunStory in iCloud storage management or contact support@ssunm.app.
Manage Permissions
You can change Apple Health, photo, location, and notification permissions at any time in iPhone Settings. Turning off a permission limits only the features that require that data.

- RunStory version and build number
- iPhone model and iOS version
- The screen and steps that reproduce the issue
- A screenshot with personal information removed
